From where I positioned myself I could see the riders approaching the base of the hill. Avancini and Fumic arrived with a big time advantage over the rest of the leading peloton.

Confesso que duvidei que alguém conseguisse zerar o desafio, à medida que eu subia a montanha para me posicionar. Havia muita erosão, areia fina e pedras soltas no meio daquela inclinação absurda. Quando vi o Avancini e o Fumic martelando os pedais morro acima, pensei: "Não são deste mundo".
I confess that I doubted that anybody could complete the challenge, as I was going up the mountain to take position. There was a lot of erosion, thin sand and loose rocks in the middle of that absurd incline. When I saw Avancini and Fumic hammering the pedals through the uphill, I thought to myself: "They are not from this world".
